The findings of the study reveal that the students in the experiment group show a better metacognitive writing ability than students in the control group. Abstract

With the influence of information technologies, EFL learning and teaching have experienced transformation. This study explores how multimedia software can be integrated into writing instruction to improve EFL college students' metacognitive writing ability.
