Cultivating and Training Practices for Accreditation of Mechanical Engineering Pograms in HIT, China

Abstract

Engineering education accreditation is an important measure to cultivate high-quality Innovative talents of Mechanical Engineering, and to enhance the adaptability of professional talents to economic and social development. Taking major of Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and its Automation (MDMA) of Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) as an example, the criteria for the training of mechanical engineering professionals are discussed, based on the standards of engineering education professional accreditation. The training objectives for students were proposed based on engineering accreditation disciplines, and the curriculum system with consideration of project-based teaching and training modes was discussed. The importance of improvement mechanism for the engineering education efficiency and sustainability was analyzed.
