Abstract

This paper deals with the effect of various FACTS devices and HVDC links on multi-area power systems. Area-1, 2, and 3 incorporated hydro-thermal and wind turbine systems (WTS) as generating units. A contemporary controller called 2DOF-TIDN has been adopted for three area AGC systems, and BSA is successfully utilized to get the optimum values of controller parameters.
