Abstract

Purpose – The purpose of this article is to describe recent publications designed to assist librarians and other information professionals in understanding copyright law in an academic context.Design/methodology/approach – The article highlights some of the more important and/or contentious areas noted within the publications.Findings – The article focuses on fair use, and the variance of its interpretations.Originality/value – The article provides a broader understanding of the ways in which copyright law affects digitization efforts.
