Abstract
External labour migration is the phenomenon that most marks the labour market and overall development in the Republic of Moldova. The main driver for Moldovan migrants remains emigration for economic purposes, mainly due to low wages on the country's labour market. In this article the author analyzes the legal and institutional framework in labour migration processes, the migration management framework, as well as the legal activity of placing the citizens of the Republic of Moldova in the field of work abroad. The analysis of the employment of citizens of the Republic abroad has been carried out, as well as of the international treaties to which the Republic of Moldova is a party. At the same time, the inter-governmental agreements signed between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and other states were analyzed. Based on the results, some conclusions and recommendations for further policy development have been drawn up and presented.
