Abstract

Abstract The present essay aims to provide some basic guidelines for needed terminological and methodological clarifications in the study of political Islam. These clarifications will hopefully counteract the prevailing confusion, both in comprehending and dealing with the politicisation of religion in Islam. The article also serves as a stage‐setting contribution to this present special issue of TMPR.
