Abstract

This paper describes our experience in implementing the OSI transport service, with the focus being on the use of the PASS ("Parallel Activity Specification Scheme") Formal Description Technique (FDT) tools for specification, verification, and semi-automatic code generation. We discuss the results of the experiment from two aspects: (1) efficiency of implementation, and (2) efficiency of the resultant implementation.
