Evaluation of Innovation Driving Ability in Western China : Taking the 12 western provinces as an example

Abstract

This paper constructs a comprehensive evaluation index system of innovation level for the western China based on the connotation of innovative development in the new era and the characteristics of innovative development in the western China of China. It collects the corresponding index data of 12 western provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities are inclusive) from 2014 to 2018, and further evaluates the regional innovation level of each western province by method of weighted TOPSIS. The results show that different regions in western China take on differentiated level in innovation-driven development. In addition, Sichuan, Shaanxi and Chongqing rank high in regional innovation capability in the western China.
