Typical Defects of Hybrid Electro-Hydraulic Governors for Prime Movers’ Fuel Control

Abstract

The paper discusses main operating issues found out during overhauling of modern electronically controlled hydraulic actuators for control of steam valves of turbo-pumps and of main and auxiliary marine engines. The impact of mechanical and electrical malfunctions on the engine performance is presented. Control system errors and their influence on of the operational parameters are analysed.
