Abstract

Cardiac output (CO) and stroke volume (SV) are physiological variables that reflect the efficiency of the heart pumping blood to all tissues of the body. Access to measure cardiac output by non-invasive ways are still on development stage and two of the used methods are based on pulse contour analysis of the photoplethysmographic wave (PPG) and pulse wave transit time (PWTT) obtained by electro cardiography (ECG) and pulse oximetry [1] [2]. This work presents on the estimation using PWTT and pulse oximetry, which was contrasted against the Doppler transthoracic echocardiography.
