Abstract
The present article seeks to identify instrument teaching trends, characteristics and transformations in doubleabass methods for beginners, and how they affect our conception of the lesson. I will use as reference for the material analysis, the content analysis proposed by Bardin (2011) and the classifications used by Soares da Silva (2016) and Silva (2016). The analysis indicated three main trends: the concern with student motivation, music development and the possibility of teaching in the group class format.
