Abstract

This paper proposes an image processing method for color images to reversibly achieve sharpening and smoothing. We have previously proposed a reversible method that enhances brightness contrast and improves saturation. The proposed method has additional functions of sharpening and smoothing without loosing the advantages of our previous method. We designed an effective filter considering area segmentation to ensure reversibility. The experimental results demonstrate that our method can attain the above functions selectively and guarantee reversibility.
