Herramientas para proyectar el territorio en el siglo XXI en América Latina

Abstract

There are several tools for projecting a short, medium, and long-term territory and the in-tervention scales change depending on the objectives. A series of studies and urban do- cuments show a lax use of basic concepts of the discipline are used with different senses, generating difficulties for its advancement and for its daily practice. These complexities, common to different territories, are evident in Argentina in recent decades with the de- velopment of a lot of plans with different territorial scopes. In this sense, the objective of this work is to do the first approach to the basic concepts used as tools for planning the territory, in order to contribute to the conceptual clarification of the urban sciences. It is established some of the most used concepts to plan a territory in this century -Urbanism, Planning, Project, Territorial Planning, Urban Planning Code, Strategic Planning- and what is understood by each of them. To do this, it sought writings “from here”, Latin America, published in the last few years, in scientific journals, notes of chairs of different universi- ties and definitions in ordinances and laws.
