The relevance of information and analytical work of the library in the modern environment

Abstract

The article investigates the role of information and analytical work of the library in modern conditions today. Attention is paid to various aspects of the activities of library institutions with a developed infrastructure for the formation and analytical and synthetic processing of documents. Emphasis is placed on the production and distribution of information and analytical products and services, where the role of information and analytical activities is growing rapidly, and information produced in society is high quality, efficient, reliable and meets the needs of modern society. The significance of the role of information-analytical subdivisions of the Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine is analyzed. The leading role of information-analytical subdivisions of the library institution in the process of providing information needs of modern users is substantiated on the example of VNLU activity. Experience of information and analytical work of the Service of Information and Analytical Support of Public Authorities (SIAS), the National Law Library (NLB), the Fund of Presidents of Ukraine (FPU) on the analysis of a wide range of issues related to the process of informatization of Ukraine. A number of urgent problems that significantly slow down the further development of information and analytical work of the library in the country are analyzed. Based on the experience of cooperation of analytical units of the NBUV with government agencies, we can talk about the feasibility of involving them in the productive development of the information society in modern conditions. The VNLU Service of Information and Analytical Support of Public Authorities has considerable experience, which results in numerous information and analytical products that have received significant evaluation from consumers.
