Abstract
The object of B-ISDN is to integrate all kind of communication services. To achieve this, N-ISDN interworking is essential to B-ISDN. We describe SS No.7 based N-ISDN interworking in an ATM switching system. We implemented N-ISDN interworking by N-ISUP/B-ISUP mapping that supports network interworking and service interworking altogether it is more efficient than ATM trunking using AAL1 in the viewpoint of the B-ISDN network utilization and complexity of the ATM switching system with interworking function (IWF).
