Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to find the carriers of strangeness on the level of the text and the image in the Polish translation of Portugal, a comic book written by a French artist Cyril Pedrosa. It also aims to examine how Polish readers identify the multilingual references to the French and Portuguese culture and if they are able to capture all the changes of the setting and the relations between the protagonists.
