Abstract

The article describes the problems faced by the Russian engineering universities in the period of the pandemic when teaching students geometric and graphic disciplines (engineering graphics, descriptive geometry, technical drawing). The author demonstrates the ways to solve these problems, f ound in the course of teaching geometric and graphic disciplines at the Moscow Aviation Institute (National Research University). New methods were tested in teaching students of engineering and design profile and have demonstrated good results: student performance in geometric and graphic disciplines remained at the same level as before the pandemic, and the students managed to master the set of competencies provided for in the curriculum for these disciplines in full. Further ways of improving the methods of teaching geometric and graphic disciplines based on modern digital technologies, which were mastered by teachers and students during the period of forced remote learning, are outlined. © 2021 Author(s).
