Reduction of Electricity Consumption in the Production of Thermally Modified Wood

Abstract

The article examines the energy consumption in the processes of thermal modification of wood. The technology requires a high temperature (190 °C), which is why electric heating and various types of oils are used. An analysis of the processes and equipment has been made. Solutions to reduce heat loss have been proposed. This reduces electricity consumption and the price of the product. The annual savings and the payback period for the additional investments have been assessed.
