ON CONSIDERING INTERRELATIONS BETWEEN RHETORIC AND ARGUMENTOLOGY

Abstract

The article discusses the problem of basic constitutive features of the two central verbal-influence paradygms, rhetorical and argumentological, with the emphasis on peculiarities of the former. General-methodological features of rhetoric and of different grounds for its consideration are discussed. Extensional and intensional sides of rhetoric are singled out. Rhetoric is also considered in view of mental efforts applied so that its reflexive and non-reflexive variants could be differentiated. Grounds for regarding rhetoric as a subdivision of argumentation are also given.
