Abstract
In this paper, a handle-electrode system is proposed for obtaining heart-rate of the user during exercising of a treadmill. The system was designed to be measurable the user's heart-rate by only gripping the parallel bar. Three electrodes that made from conductive cloth were adhered to the handle. A method detecting heart-rate from obtained electrocardiogram was also proposed. To assess the applicability of the proposed system, a simple experiment was performed. Eight healthy volunteer (aged 25 plusmn 5 years) participated in this experiment. As the result, the heart rates of 7 out of 8 subjects were successfully obtained.
