Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 9 Kendari tahun ajaran 2019/2020 dengan jumlah siswa 365 orang. Pengambilan sampel kelas dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensial. Hasil penelitian secara deskriptif nilai rata-rata KBKM siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 9 Kendari mengalami penigkatan setelah diberikan perlakuan yaitu dengan pendekatan problem posing. Hasil penelitian secara inferensial: (1) Secara signifikan terdapat peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematik siswa setelah diajar dengan pendekatan problem posing, (2) Secara signifikan terdapat peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematik siswa setelah diajar dengan pendekatan problem posing untuk siswa yang memiliki Self-Efficacy tinggi, (3) Secara signifikan terdapat peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematik siswa setelah diajar dengan pendekatan problem posing untuk siswa yang memiliki Self-Efficacy sedang, dan (4) Secara signifikan terdapat peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematik siswa setelah diajar dengan pendekatan problem posing untuk siswa yang memiliki Self-Efficacy rendah. Abstract: This study aims to analyze: (1) a description of the critical thinking skills of mathematics (KBKM) class VIII SMP Negeri 9 Kendari; (2) the effect of problem posing approach to improving the student KBKM in terms of self-efficacy (SE). The population in this study were all students of class VIII at SMP Negeri 9 Kendari in the academic year 2019/2020 with the number of students 365 people. Class sampling is done using purposive sampling technique. Data analysis techniques using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results of the study descriptively the average grades of KBKM for VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 9 Kendari experienced an increase after being given treatment, namely the problem posing approach. Inferential research results: (1) Significantly there is an increase in students' mathematical critical thinking skills after being taught with the problem posing approach, (2) Significantly there is an increase in students' mathematical critical thinking skills after being taught with the problem posing approach for students who have high Self-Efficacy, (3) Significantly there is an increase in students' mathematical critical thinking skills after being taught with the problem posing approach for students who have moderate Self-Efficacy, and (4) Significantly there is an increase in students' mathematical critical thinking skills after being taught with the problem posing approach for students who have low Self-Efficacy.
