An experience of Requirements elicitation for multidisciplinary applications

Abstract

Computer software applications have been used day-to-day in different areas as tools for research, support and others. In the software development process, there are differences between the software that a customer conceptualizes as ideal and the software that is specified. This is due to the fact that in the software development phases, multiple concepts are mixed and might have different meanings depending on the area of the subjects involved. The way to reduce these differences is by using software processes defined in Software Engineering. However, these processes do not work in all the projects, which leads software developer to its adaptation. In this paper is presented a case of study of a multidisciplinary project, describing how the breach between the stakeholders and the developers was shorted in order to arrive to a consensus in the software requirements.
