Abstract
Temporal databases were introduced almost immediately after the first database systems were released. They encapsulate the state by the temporal frames, mostly expressing validity. Three temporal architectures reflecting the granularity perspective are currently used - object, attribute, and synchronization group. These approaches provide sophisticated solutions for any temporal system. However, they are not robust, if mixed temporal insights need to be modeled. The proposed hybrid temporal architecture focuses not only on modeling temporality but also conventional and static data approaches can be incorporated by providing various temporal commands regarding processing and registration.
