Abstract
Increasing environmental issues, globalization activities, and governmental policies have compelled manufacturing organizations to adopt strategies that can improve environmental performance along with achieving operational objectives. Green lean six sigma (GLSS) is an emerging strategy that can aid manufacturing organizations in mitigating environmental impacts such as wastewater pollution, air emissions, resource depletion, and energy consumption. However, organizations face immense challenges in implementing green lean six sigma as an integrated approach. A systematic literature review (SLR) is conducted to investigate the green lean six sigma tools used in manufacturing firms and how they can be integrated, using the six sigma DMAIC (define, measure, analyze, improve, and control) approach, for environmental performance. The SLR results provide valuable insights into the GLSS domain, which can facilitate practitioners and consultants towards implementing the green lean six sigma tools as an integrated approach for improving environmental performance.
