Abstract

The problem of harmonics in the power supply system remains as a consequent problem for decades. The present paper deals with a new strategy for shunt active filter control in order to improve the mitigation of the harmful effect of harmonics. The proposed configuration is based on a multivariable filter (MVF), which has a high selectivity in extracting the fundamental current component in balanced, unbalanced or distorted conditions, under different voltage conditions. Simulation and experimental results are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
