Abstract

The enhancement of bandwidth in traditional rectangular printed monopole antenna (PMA) using a cover of magnetodielectric material in the 8-18 GHz range is presented here. Analytical expression for the far field radiation pattern of PMA with magnetodielectric cover using transmission line analogy is also derived. The advantage of using magnetodielectric cover on PMA is shown by comparing the performance with PMA having dielectric cover and without any cover, using HFSS software package.
