Abstract

This paper presents a case study on the system level modeling of a WCDMA communication system using the Java object-oriented language. The modeling was done using Ptolemy II, a Java-based actor-oriented framework. The features of Ptolemy II and Java allowed us to implement a complete communication chain as a testbench, where the performance of the system could be evaluated under different channel models.
