Therefore, in this study, the new measuring method of thermal deviations with the linear axis motion is devised for a multi-task machine. This method is possible to do the same measurement as the method standardized in ISO230-3. Using this measurement system, six thermal deviations with the reciprocating motion of the carriage are measured simultaneously on the actual multi-task machine with the general structure. From the results, we obtain the following conclusions. The method we proposed here has validity. Abstract
Many multi-task machines have been developed recently because of demands for reduction of the number of machining processes.
