Abstract

Rehabilitation and hearing adaptation after cochlear implantation are processes that are time-consuming, requiring perseverance and commitment. The aim of the paper is to present selected methods of conduct and tools used by psychologists during psychological consultations in the process of referring adult patients for cochlear implantation. The paper will show details of psychological factors discussed during consultation and their impact on the patient’s attitude and the hearing benefits he/she obtains in the therapeutic process after cochlear implantation.
