Hybrid shuttle bus using ultracapacitors

Abstract

The Electric Vehicle Institute, College of Technology at Bowling Green State University in Ohio has developed a diesel/electric hybrid propulsion system. This system has been installed in a 27 passenger shuttle bus. This bus has recently been put into shuttle service on campus in order to collect application data, receive feedback from professional operators and provide a demonstration of the suitability of the system for service.
