Abstract

Every forward proxy faces hurdle in its performance in the cases where time taken to fetch a requested resource from the origin server is lesser than serving it from the proxy cache because of the relative geographical locations of the client, proxy server and origin server. In this paper, for such a scenario, we propose a method for server assisted filtering of client requests based on the latency of a particular resource from client.
