Abstract
An environmentally friendly, compact overhead power line for rated voltages 66 (72.5) to 150 (170) kV is described. The line is characterized by a vertical conductor arrangement and by a tower with an insulating pole head using hollow polymeric post insulators with the earth-wire connection inside. The EM field (EMF) values are significantly reduced using a compensation loop, which is fed by a current pickup loop designed and adapted to the line conductors in a unique arrangement.
