Abstract

This paper presents a management system for the pursuit of product safety using hazard-based assessment during the product life cycle. A safety level index is initially calculated by hazard levels and safeguards reliability value using FTA diagram. Reliability of components are calculated by using IEC TR 62380. We also discuss an improvement scheme for product safety estimation. The management system can control manufacturers internal activities commonly through its functions of manufacturers department relating its product life cycle. For the manufacturers, the introduction of the management system to a company can contribute to set the common standardized level of product safety.
