Abstract

This article discusses the DC-DC boost Converter of a solar charge controller with the maximum power point tracking system MPPT. The process of its operation is described, its basic parameters such as, the duty cycle, inductance value, maximum current, capacitance values of the input and output capacitor are calculated and a diode and a MOS transistor are selected for it. The designed boost converter has been tested with an SP75 solar panel and the simulation results from the Powersim software package (PSIM) have been obtained.
