Comparing Learning Management Systems from Popularity Point of View

Abstract

The success of the e-learning has created a growing demand for the development of a number of either commercial or open-source Learning Management Systems (LMSs), which are widely used, in our days, in universities, colleges, companies, organizations and any other educational institutes. This paper presents and discuss thirty-eight (38) of the most important features in LMSs, which are critical to compare and evaluate the platforms between them. This work also focuses on the comparison of ten (10) most widely used LMSs according to these features from the point of their popularity.
