Optimal control strategies applied to reduce the unemployed population

Abstract

A mathematical model for unemployment has been developed and analyzed into account of policies of government. We simulate our model where policy action towards job creation only or providing skilled manpower or both. The optimal control strategies of unemployment model are performed using Pontryagin's Maximum Principle. This study establishes the two control strategies so that the number of employed at end of implemented policies of government is maximized while minimizing the cost of policymaking.
