Abstract
A modified single-inductor dual-input buck converter is proposed for PV power optimizer applications. The leakage current issue, which cannot be overcome by existing dual-input buck converters, is solved with the proposed converter. The leakage current analytical model is analyzed in detail. The stray capacitors between the PV array and the ground are clamped by modifying the position of the filter inductor in the converter. Experimental tests have been conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed dual-input buck converter.
