The use of Business Intelligence tools for leadership and university administration

Abstract

Data Analysis is a process of inspecting, cleaning, transforming, and modeling data with the goal of discovering useful information, suggesting conclusions, and supporting decision making. Using analytical tools during recent years has become a key trend in the acceptance of timely and correct decisions. My contribution describes Business Intelligence (BI) using Microsoft SQL Server 2012. It focuses on the possibility of using database analysis tools (mainly queries and OLAP cubes) in the management of public universities. The object of research is a set of real data extracted from the database of the Academic Information System (AIS), Matej Bel University (MBU).
