One Case Report on The Use of a Multi-Herbal Tincture to Treat Psoriasis

Abstract

Psoriasis is a kind of dermatological disease that could infect more than 8 million people in the U.S., 125 million people worldwide, nearly 2 to 3 percent of the total population. The causative mechanism of psoriasis is still not very clear. However, many physicians believe that it might be related to an over activity of immune system or autoimmune disease. The drugs for treatment of psoriasis have not leach to a point of totally satisfaction. Here is a case report of psoriasis treated with water and alcohol extract of 14 herbs, a few of which are OTC pills. After 7 weeks’ local application of that homemade tincture, the lesion on the left inner side of the leg was obviously improved. Chinese and English names of those herbs are listed in a table for readers to compare. The good thing of this tincture is that its materials are non-prescription herbs and their prices are rather cheap.
