Abstract
The article presents the results of a review of various syndromes that occur in the pathology of the digestive system. Functional dyspepsia and the principles of its treatment are considered in detail. Proton pump inhibitors are one of the main groups of drugs used to treat functional dyspepsia. A serious complication of prolonged use of proton pump inhibitors is the syndrome of small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. The main principles of treatment of this complication are antibacterial therapy and probiotics. Enterobseptic Novobismol® and modern probiotic Maxilak® can be drugs of choice in this situation.
