This article presents a case study of crack dependence. The objective of this paper was to describe the application of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in the treatment of chemical dependency, the techniques used and the results obtained. The method consisted of the accomplishment of the diagnostic evaluation, the treatment plan and the intervention. The data analysis indicated the improvement of mood, cognitive restructuring, improvements on cope with relapse risk, problem solving, social skills and abstinence maintenance. Abstract
Chemical dependency is a multifactorial problem that brings constant challenges to the professionals involved in its treatment, being necessary to seek effective intervention strategies.
