Abstract

this paper presents the integration of the manufacturing upper ontology called manufacturing's semantics ontology (MASON) for the design of reconfigurable machine tool (rmt) using fbs approach. the fbs approach is introduced and its application for machine tool design is discussed. a concrete proposal MASON with its main classes and object properties is discussed. its application in the domain of production system design is discussed.
