Students who participate in the project apply their learned techniques to real situations and learn by doing. New use of pedestrian motion modeling is introduced in regional planning through visual accessibility prediction maps of towns. Studies have shown that the distribution of pedestrian movements is explained by spatial quantities representing the properties of the street network. Preliminary observations have identified three locations with the most activity.
