Abstract

This paper presents the design of Cuckoo search algorithm based high step-up DC-AC converter for PV applications. Unlike traditional MPPT algorithms, which fails to track the global maximum power point (GMPP) during partial shading condition (PSC), Cuckoo search algorithm has the ability to track the GMPP. The proposed high step-up DC-AC converter, integrates an active switched LC converter with H-bridge inverter. By the support of battery and bidirectional DCDC converter, the proposed system provides constant DC rail voltage. The simulation of 250W high step-up DC-AC converter with Cuckoo search algorithm is done in MATLAB/SIMULINK and the results are found to be satisfactory.
