Application of PSCAD in Practical Studies of Electrical Power Engineering Students

Abstract

The main methods of laboratory work are considered and the program complex PSCAD is proposed as a tool for modeling power systems for laboratory work. Examples of basic experiments on electromagnetic transients in PSCAD are given. The conclusion about the effectiveness of PSCAD using for diagnosis of cable lines insulation by partial discharges measuring are given.
