Pathogeneticic mechanism of diabetic myopathy is a result of dysbalance between proand anti-inflammatory interleukins. The first manifestations of diabetic myopathy in children occur after the 5 year of diabetes, but subclinical signs develop over the first years of disease. Abstract

The level of interleukin-6 and interleukin-13 was analysed in the blood serum of children with diabetes type 1 from 11 to 17 years old. They divided into three groups: the duration of diabetes less than 1 year (1st group), the duration of diabetes from 1 to 5 years (2nd group) and over 5 years (3rd group). The group of control includes conventionally healthy children.
