Abstract
The use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) has been expanding in classrooms around the world in recent years. When associated with language teaching, they enable the personalization of teaching, bringing benefits such as greater interaction in the group, motivation to learn and diversification of activities. This article presents a historical perspective of computer-assisted language teaching, addresses the benefits of using ICT in teaching practice, and describes available resources that can assist teaching in the digital age with a focus on mobile applications developed for language teaching, used in practice of m-learning.
