Abstract

A large no of application uses non-linear devices which affect the power factor of the system and introduces harmonics in the power system. The various techniques are used to reduce the harmonics and improvement of power factor in the power system. In this paper, presents the one of the new technique are used to control the power factor and reduce the harmonics by using bridgeless boost ac to dc converter. This converter is operating in continuous conduction mode (CCM). The total harmonic distortion is reduced and boost dc output voltage is presented in the simulation.
