Abstract

Motivational factors are critical for engaging and sustaining students to use mobile devices for learning purposes. The purpose of this study is to investigate a group of college students’ attitudes towards applying mobile devices and software in a smart classroom and the effect of the facilities on the students’ language learning motivation. Results indicate that the participants demonstrated a positive attitude towards the role the mobile devices and software plays in the smart classroom in general. Besides, utilization of the mobile devices and software can also help facilitate students’ learning motivation. The structure of a well-designed collaborative learning smart classroom (CLSC) for language learning is proposed in this study as well.
