Abstract

En la investigación arqueológica, el recorrido regional de superficie ha sido un método planificado que se vale de diversas técnicas para el registro sistemático de datos atendiendo a objetivos concretos. Desde su implementación en el Valle del Virú, los recorridos arqueológicos han potencializado la exploración visual del registro material conservado en la superficie del terreno e impulsado considerablemente el análisis territorial, ambiental y cultural del comportamiento humano en el pasado. Mesoamérica no ha sido inmune, y como ejemplo mostramos recorridos regionales de superficie en la Costa del Golfo, centrándonos en el centro y sur del estado de Veracruz.REGIONAL TOURS IN CENTER AND SOUTH OF VERACRUZ, MEXICO. Since its implementation in the Viru Valley, archaeological surveys have fostered the visual exploration of the material record preserved on the Earth’s surface and have advanced considerably the territorial, environmental, and cultural analysis of human behavior in the past.
